For too long we have been running to hear a word from God, now He wants us to come running to His mercy seat.
Why do we go searching elsewhere for the answers we need? Why is it so hard to come before God? For many people they would find it easier to climb a mountain, trek through the woods, than make one small step downwards. Humbling yourself and kneeling requires a removal of pride.
The Mercy Seat is a place of God's Presence in the Old Testament it was the lid to the Ark of the covenant which contained Aaron's rod and the tablets of stone. This symbolizes the Power of God and the Word of God. Both go hand in hand. You can't have the Power of God without feasting on the Word of God, likewise you can't walk out the Word of God without putting in service the Power of God.
Right now it seems as if all we hear and see is "thunder & lightning" in the Christian realm, a lot of noise but very little substance. It may appear as if prayers are going unanswered and everything is a struggle. Maybe you have been in God's waiting room for so long and yet never get called. Does it seem like others have come behind you and yet they are called before you? No matter what you are standing and believing for, whether it is healing, a lost family member1 a full time ministry, a promotion or even a new job. You are not forgotten.
"It shall be said in that day behold our God upon Whom we have waited and hoped, that He might save US! This is the Lord, we have waited for Him; we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation." Isaiah 25:9.
The Lord clearly showed me the other day in respect to the thunder & lightning. In the natural, when we hear and see it, we automatically know that rain is on its way, this is something we have been taught since childhood. Same is true in the spiritual, RAIN IS ON ITS WAY. Jesus is about to rain down His Power and His Glory. We have only thus far tasted a sample of His rain falling in our lives a deeper and more intense rain is coming.
